Kellie - Make up Artist Extraordinaire!

Today, I went to help Kellie with one of her projects for school. She is taking Make-up Artistry at Sheridan College. She had do make up on three different models and then have a professional photographer take pictures. I volunteered to help since I haven't found a new job yet. I'm posting pictures of both myself and her sister Sarah (that I took with my digital camera). The only things that are missing in the pictures of Sarah are the pieces of glass that Kellie put in her face. Don't worry, no models were hurt at any time during this project.

A bloody mess.

Wax to hold the glass.

Sarah, a smiling corpse.

Looks real, eh?

Bruised and battered.

The Aquarium of Western Australia.

Explore over 12,000 km of Western Australia's coastline in just one day (or in my case an hour and a half).

Today, I went to visit the aquarium. It was certainly worth the drive to Hillarys Harbour. It features Australia's largest walkthrough aquarium - which happens to be filled with Sharks, Stingrays, Loggerhead Turtles and some fish. It's pretty cool. There is also a touch pool so kids can get more familiar with ocean life (I'm sure the ocean life doesn't necessarily appreciate this attraction).

Western Australia's coastline is extremely diverse because of the changes in water temperature. The inhabidants of the Far North Coastal waters include some of the worlds most dangerous marine animals including the Stonefish and the Salt water crocodile.

He doesn't look that scary, does he?

Fremantle Public Golf Course

I went to the driving range for the first time ever today. I am certainly not a natural but I had a lot of fun. Maybe this summer in Canada I'll give it another go. We had a lot of fun. I think Petrina was the best out of all of us. She has her own club and has had more practive than the rest of us. I need to remember to keep my eye on the ball, at least half the swing that I made didn't even connect with the ball. Hopefully I'll have better luck next time.

The Driving Range

Ready, set, go !

Petrina.

The Swing...

Me, attempting to hit the ball.

The follow through - apparently I'm suppose to have both hands on the club. I'll work on that next time.

"Catch Phrase" - the greatest game ever...

For those who have never played catch phrase - check out this website for a description

I went over to Paula and Dave house tonight to 'hang out' with some of their friends. The blokes started out watching the Cricket but were quickly enticed into playing "Catch Phrase" once we finished dinner. Here's the interesting part - it's a North American game, so having Aussie's trying to describe some of the words was hilarious. We had a great night. We had an uneven number of people, so the losing team had to play Rock, Paper, Scissors to decide who was subing out. Something I had never thought to do before. It makes the game even more competitive. It looks like I'm going to end up leaving the game with Paula and Dave, since it's much easier for me to buy a new copy in Canada, rather than trying to send one here.

Wracking my brain to figure out how to describe words to this lot of Aussies!

Andy using actions to enhance his description.

That's me trying to describe a word to my team and trying nto to crack up.

And the Buzzer goes off - too bad for Rachel.

Dave waiting as the other team is describing a word.

Rachel having a good laugh.

Paula doing her best to get her team to say the word she's describing.
